Reflection
This was also a fun assignment, but time consuming for sure. I have done animation in the past and it certainly re-hashed some feelings about this particular art-making process. Animation is like being fully immersed - you're either in or out. Once you dive in and start to have fun, the art-making process begins to flow. I had been interested in using stop-motion animation to show how an artwork can progress and build over time. However, I found that creating a short narrative worked easier with the allotted timeframe. For me, my final product is like a first trial/experiment. I would love to re-work this, possibly use a higher-quality camera, and make a longer video. Don't get me wrong though, this took a lot of effort! In the classroom, I would like to see students use stop-motion animation in a collaborative way. The animation we watched ft. Jonny Cash really stuck with me, and I think students would be excited to see their work come together to create a collective animation.
